Frequently asked questions

Common questions about STEINBAUER modules.

Does a STEINBAUER module remap the ECU?

No. STEINBAUER is an external performance module. The original ECU software is not permanently rewritten.

Does it increase common-rail pressure?

No. Performance is achieved by optimising injection duration rather than increasing rail pressure.

Can the module be removed?

Yes. The module can be removed and the vehicle can be returned to its original factory configuration.

Does the factory ECU remain in control?

Yes. The original ECU continues to control the vehicle's factory safety parameters and protection strategies.

Can I install the module myself?

Many plug-in systems can be fitted by a competent installer. Wire-in applications should be fitted by an experienced technician.

What information do I need before contacting support?

Please have the vehicle or machine details, engine information, STEINBAUER part number and proof of purchase available where possible.
